Workshop Objectives

MCS 2013 is the eleventh edition of the well-established series of meetings providing the leading international forum for the discussion of issues in multiple classifier systems and ensemble methods. The aim of the workshop is to bring together researchers from diverse communities concerned with this topic, including pattern recognition, machine learning, neural network, data mining and statistics.
The 2013 edition is a special one in the series. It has a broader scope, thanks to its location in mainland China, and it will serve as an umbrella for other events, including the PLS 2013 workshop.

Workshop Topics

Papers describing original work in the following and related research topics are welcome:

  • Foundations of ensemble methods
  • Design of multiple classifier systems
  • Classifier combination and classifier fusion
  • Clustering combination
  • Classifier selection and ensemble pruning
  • Diversity in multiple classifier systems
  • Bagging and boosting
  • Combination of multiple kernels
  • Applications
